Emma and Michael were married at the Parish Church of St Barthlomew at Whittingham. They then had their celebrations at Doxford Hall in Northumberland.
Emma had her bridal prep at home, it was such a glorious day that we captured some images in the garden before we left for the church. Emma rode in a beautiful horse and carriage; the horses were magnificent. It was superb weather for the journey into the village where there were lots of people waiting for her arrival. She had a fabulous welcome from the locals and Emma’s Grandfather escorted her to meet Michael. Michael was waiting nervously when he caught his first sight of Emma who looked absolutely stunning. Her trailing bouquet of white and cream rose, calla lily, freesia and green ivy was lovely. Her ruffled wedding dress so pretty. After the ceremony the bride and groom threw copper coins for the children to scramble for, this is very much a northern tradition. I remember fondly doing this as a child when we all used to go and see the newly wed couple leave the church and they used to shout “scramble”!
The celebrations continued at Doxford Hall where we had lovely speeches and then captured more images. The backdrops at Doxford hall are endless. It is a fantastic venue to capture amazing images. The day turned to night and the dancing continued well after we had gone, it was an incredible day.
